On 11/29/2016, the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office began a criminal investigation into an alleged sexual relationship between an underage female student and her male teacher at the Gilroy Early College Academy (GECA). GECAis an educational partnership between Gilroy Unified School District and Gavilan College. The teacher, William Dawson, had the inappropriate relationship with the female victimduring the 2014/2015 school year. Upon discovery of Dawson’s alleged conduct, GECA immediately placed Dawson on administrative leave and notified the Sheriff’s Office.
