Custody Commissary System

You can go online and order items via iCare (English, Spanish, Vietnamese) to be shipped into the custody facilities. Products offered online are the same products that are offered to inmates. However, not all items offered to inmates are available online, and items are bundled together rather than sold individually.

iCare accepts debit/credit card payments, and products will be delivered to inmates on regular delivery days (English, Spanish, Vietnamese).

The Sheriff's Office does not receive any commission from commissary sales. As a result, the overall menu pricing has been reduced to offer the lowest rates for all inmates.

Due to COVID-19 restricted access precautions, only one iCare gift package will be available at this time.

There are several ways to deposit money in inmates' accounts:

Mailing a Money Order or Cashier's Check

Inmates' families/friends can avoid paying a deposit fee by sending a money order to the facility housing the inmate:

  • For Main Jail, mail to: Inmate Services, 150 W. Hedding Street, San Jose, CA 95110.
  • For Elmwood, mail to: Inmate Services, 701 S. Abel Street, Milpitas, CA 95035.

Make the cashier's check or money order payable to: Santa Clara County Department of Correction. Include the inmate's name and PFN number and the sender's contact information (in case there is no record of the inmate or the inmate has been released). Mail without a return address will be rejected.
