Sheriff's Office Staff Death Announcement

It is with a heavy heart that the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office shares the devastating news of the recent passing of two of our beloved Sheriff’s deputies within the past week. On July 11th, Richard “Troy” Reynolds, a 27-year member of the Sheriff’s Office, passed away from a medical emergency as he was leaving for work. On July 15th, Arturo Romero, a 24-year member of the Sheriff’s Office, was driving home from his shift and was stuck head-on by a suspected DUI driver on Highway 87 and passed away at the scene.
